Wise Beyond Their Years

My boys are to the age where they speak their minds.  And not just in bad ways- they are constantly amazing me with what they understand about things around them!
A couple days ago, the boys and I had a conversation something like this:

Adrian- Is that starfish alive?
Mom- No, we got it from the beach and it dried up and died.  It needs water to live.
A- So we need to take it back to the beach and walk across the sand and put it back in the water.  Then it will be alive.
M- Not really.  Once it has died, it is dead.  It can't live anymore.  Just like people.  When our breathing and our heart stops, we're dead.  No matter how many things they might try to get your life back.
Samuel- We have 2 sets of life.
M- Uhh... what?
S- We have one life here and one life in heaven.
M- You're right!
S- And once we die we'll never open our eyes again.
M- Yep.
S- Heaven's like a dream, isn't it?

I don't know why we talk about death and Heaven so much.  But I think it's good for them to have a bit of an understanding about how temporary life can be.  And I kind of like the dream analogy for Heaven... one of those dreams you want to stay in and finish!

I have been taking a lot of pictures with my phone lately... I tend to forget our cameras where ever we go!  Slightly annoying BUT I just found out that I can send my pictures on the phone to Picasa and load them onto here!!  So, yeah, not really quality pictures, but better than none, right?  Here's a few pictures from a short while ago that I found.
Good buddies!  They no longer say "I don't want to be your friend" - they say
"You will always be my brother..." with a big sigh

Guess what they're all looking at?

Zoo trip with the Kindergarten classes!

Adrian and I got to tag along!
