This week we've all been to a doctor. Trying to keep everyone healthy is a bit of a struggle this time of year!
I started out on Monday going for my monthly chiro adjustment... nothing big, but helpful after learning earlier this year that I had a "curvature" in my back. No huge surprise since my posture isn't the greatest, and having 2 kids and carrying them more than I probably need to certainly didn't help. The curvature is not just a rounded back, like slouching, but where the spine isn't straight and actually curves to the right or left side.
Dave has been having neck issues and headaches again, so he's been going to the chiro as well. Twice so far this week. (We keep her in business!) And today he's going back to our family doctor to check up on his general feeling bad from stress. Hopefully a positive update from the doctor on that! He's definitely been feeling more like himself.
Yesterday I drove Adrian to a Springfield pediatric allergist. We found out that he has
Dermatographism. Nothing major, but he's had hives all over his body since his birthday and they come and go and it was starting to become a concern. So I was glad that this is all it is and it's treatable and will hopefully go away before too long! This picture shows the only "test" the doctor did to see how his skin reacted to a (rather hard) scratch. Apparently normal skin would only turn red, but his puffed up. You can also see where he had been scratching himself right below the doc's test scratch.
Sam went to our normal pediatrician in the afternoon due to his month-long coughing illness and wheezing. When he gets a cough, it takes forever for him to kick it and he usually ends up wheezing like crazy... which Dave says sounds just like he did when he was having asthma problems as a kid. So we wound up with an inhaler for times like this. He's already starting to get better, so hopefully it's not too often we have to deal with it!
Some funny things I jotted down as I've been typing this that Adrian says and is silly enough to want to remember: "What is ___ made of?" "Don't let the bug beds bite!" This morning he asked what milk was made of. I said cows make milk and after a long process, we buy it at the store. His understanding was hilarious. "We don't have a farm in our house, so we can't have a cow. But do we have money to buy it at the store?" (He's picked up on the "sorry, I don't have money for everything!" speech) Funny little guy!
Busy weekend ahead, but hopefully I won't have as much to write and let some pictures do the talking....
If I post them- I may be too embarrassed! :-)
