Things I've Learned

Turning 29 this week made me reflect a bit about life... mostly mine, but I thought I'd share some of my little discoveries.
  • You have to find happiness within yourself before you can expect that out of others, especially those you live with!
  • Putting God first means you will have an easier time when dealing with others, because you will have the right spirit/attitude to help them when you normally would get frustrated with them.
  • Peace in your soul gives you a lot more peace in every aspect of your life.
  • When you sacrifice caring for yourself, you will find it harder to care about others.  Positively said- take care of yourself so you can do more for your family!  (This is hard as a mom!)
  • Knowing things will come to an end at some point helps a little when it's over.
  • The little things you do for others really does make a difference.
  • Love unconditionally- it's easier than loving in a limited way.
  • Spend more time with those you want to be with.  You'll be happier as a result.
  • Make time to call a friend or send a note... you don't know how much they might need that.
  • Compliments go so much further than insults.
  • Keeping your house organized & (semi-)clean makes you feel better.  (Maybe this one's just for me??)
  • It's fun to do something a little 'different' to see if someone notices!
  • Always have something you're planning for in the future... whether it's short or long term.  Looking forward to it makes it much more worthwhile!

Alright, I think that's about it... I've had this in my mind for a few days, so I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the revelations I had.  But I'm getting old so give me a break!! :-)
